Welcome to the second "Records Are Forever" Johnson Party at Helsinki's own Tavastia on Saturday 27 July! One just wasn't enough this time. Doors open at 9 PM, and showtime is approx. 10.30 PM. We got Felix "Beat in a Box?" Zenger with us again plus hard-core acoustic guitar maestro extraordinaire Petteri Sariola joining us on stage as well as taking care of the warm-up duties with his incredible 30 minute solo set. "Check The Record", the second single off the new album "Records Are Forever", is currently trying to penetrate its way into heavy radio rotation. Please do your bit and vote for the song on your favorite radio station: YleX, NRJ, Voice, Radio SuomiPOP, Radio Nova and Radio Helsinki. It's a summer track, it's summer - need we say more??? Don Johnson Big Band and one of Finland's most popular schlager artists Jari Sillanpää will perform Don Henley's classic "The Boys of Summer" in an MTV3 live broadcast on Sunday starting at 8 PM! There is also going to be a special version of the new radio single "Check The Record"... Check out the photo and details HERE!

Stay tuned for an exciting new competition on the mailing list later this week, namely on Saturday 9th May. The questions will be related to the album cover art and booklet. The prizes will feature among other things the actual pan flute used on "Records Are Forever", tickets for a gig of your choice, as well as selected items from our wide range of webshop products! And if you want to know just how unique a pan flute we're talking about, CLICK HERE. Naturally, the best way to prepare yourself for the contest is to pick up the new album as soon as it is released. 05.05.2009 ALBUM OF THE WEEK AND STUDIO B LIVE!
Tommy and Johannes will be presenting a new track from the album every day this week on YleX Radio. The song of the day will be played Monday to Friday at about 10.25 AM and replayed at 7.45 PM. The song of Saturday will play after 4 PM. Video clips of the two gentlemen will be posted here daily. Don Johnson Big Band will also be playing live at YleX's Studio B on 13 May. Don Johnson Big Band is scheduled to play some 20 odd shows in Finland before the end of the summer celebrating the release of the brand new album "Records Are Forever" with plenty of new tricks in store! More festival and club dates still to come for sure. Here's what we currently have:

Don Johnson Big Band and Radio Helsinki are collaborating on a very special Records Are Forever competition. Tune in now (88,6 MHz / www.radiohelsinki.fi) and win tickets to the Johnson Tram, which will be circling the streets of Helsinki on Tuesday 28 April. On this once-in-a-lifetime tram ride, you will be treated to an advance listening of the entire new album - over a week before its official release! And if that wasn't enough, the band will also be hopping on the streetcar to chat with you and to perform a small acoustic gig! Competitions are running daily on Radio Helsinki. Act fast, because the number of tickets is verrry limited! See you on board!
