Don Johnson Big Band were awarded with a Finnish Grammy for the Best
Urban / Electronica Album Of The Year 2006
for their newest album "Don Johnson Big Band".
A completely surprised Tommy picked up the prize just seconds before
the band melted the stage with a fast live rendition of "Road" backed
up for the occasion by three steelpan players. The band would like to
thank all of you once again for your unbelievable support throughout
the years! Without you guys this would not be possible.

15.03.2007 DJBB JAPANESE EDITION NOW AVAILABLE!
The special Japanese Edition of the new album has arrived and it is now available as an import from the Official DJBB Webstore! Ever wanted to get the best DJBB tracks on one CD? From Japan? Now it's possible: the track list reads like a "Best Of" compiled from both "Breaking Daylight" and "Don Johnson Big Band" and contains one 100% new and unreleased song "Rain No. 968" not available from anywhere else. All lyrics and liner notes are written in Japanese and English plus the jewel case is wrapped in clear protective plastic.

A very special version of the new album "Don Johnson Big Band" will be released in Japan on 14th February by Universal Music! The album track list includes tracks from both "Breaking Daylight" and the EU version of "Don Johnson Big Band" plus a completely new Don Johnson Big Band song called "Rain No. 968" as a Japan Only Bonus Track! Check out the Japanese DJBB site here for more information. Right now "One MC, One Delay" is getting more and more airplay on InterFM 76.1MHz, Tokyo's No. 1 radio station...
24.01.2007 TWO FINNISH GRAMMY NOMINATIONS!
Don Johnson Big Band has received two nominations at the 2007 Emma Awards (the Finnish version of the Grammys, y'all). The self-titled third album "Don Johnson Big Band" was nominated for Urban/Electronica Album of the Year, while the first single cut "Road" is one of six nominees up for Song of the Year. The Finnish record industry awards will be handed out to the most creative (or commercially successful) artists of 2006 at Helsinki's Kulttuuritalo on March 10. Finnish TV2 will broadcast the event live starting at 19.50.

Ladies and gentlemen... the photos of the 2006 tour are here! What's more, every single older photo gallery on the site has been revamped with a total of over 1,000 photos with dedicated captions! Roll your mouse over the photos to read the captions. A comprehensive "Making Of" gallery of the new album is included with photos from every studio the band entered. As a bonus we dug deep into the official Johnson Photo Archive, turned on the scanner and compiled a very special gallery of Ancient Photos taken during the years 1999-2002. Take a virtual online journey from the very first DJBB gig on 18 February 1999 to present day; the latest sold-out live extravaganza at Tavastia Club, Helsinki 16 Dec 2006! Go grab some snacks, sit back and enjoy...
21.12.2006 DEAR FRIENDS, DEAR FRIENDS...
The year is all but wrapped up, and it's time to give thanks and props to you all. The 70th and final show of the year at Helsinki's Tavastia club was a truly beautiful icing on the cake we call 2006, the busiest year we've ever had in terms of touring.
The atmosphere of the sold out club, and the packed stage (a grand total of 13 people on stage at once!) was something we will never forget. Just as we won't forget numerous other great experiences at home and abroad. From finishing the album in New York City to the French shows in Cannes and Marseille, and our first ever blast in Tokyo. Our record label is currently working on a Japanese edition of DJBB, due for an early 2007 release, and we are all thrilled to see what happens!
2006 has left us with a third full length album, gold record sales from our home country, single releases with some great remixes from talented people... Good stuff. And as the new year approaches, we're already making plans for new material. But we encourage you to remain patient. Before any new songs hit the stores, a massive update of new photos and videos will hit this website. Perhaps not quite before the end of the year, but in the first days of 2007 at the very latest. So stay tuned!
Now it's time for a quick breather, and after a few months of rest, the spring and summer of 2007 will bring more touring in places both new and old. Until then, power to the people, and enjoy the holidays!
